Gratuitous pictures but HAS MY CAR BEEN LOWERED?

I acquired this car with custom suspension, in the form of KONI adjustable suspension. The question is, does this car look to be standard ride height, or does it look like it has been lowered? If it has been lowered, what are the tell-tale signs in terms of hardware on the car?

thanks, and excuse the gratuitous pics!

If it has been lowered can someone post a comparable pic of an 85+ Carrera of standard ride height?

A picture of my car is below. It was REALLY low when I got it, so I had it raised to euro height. Your car looks about the same.

OK can someone define what 'euro height' actually is, and how this compares to say, 'US height'.

So what you seem to be saying is that the car hasnt been lowered?

Ride height is commonly measured from ground to wheel well on a level surface. The 'real' way is via the springplate angle. See Angle.

Do a search on lowering & you will have months of reading. Note final height also depends on tire diameter. Any change in height will also change your camber, so an alignment will be necessary.

This is with 15" wheels:

I doubt if you actually have an "adjustable suspension" other than the normal factory adjustability, but rather Koni adjustable shocks.

Give us the measurements for your wheel openings - that's one way to define the ride height. The measurements can vary left-to-right even though the car is level and nothing is tweaked, just normal variances in the fenders.

The wheel diameter and tire size also have a visual effect; larger wheel diameter or tire OD can make the car appear to be lowered when it's not.

I would say your car looks like it's been lowered a bit but not drastically, maybe near Euro height.

Looks like your basic gray market Carrera. If it's lowered, I don't think it's been lowered very much. After 1982, I believe that Porsche's interpretation of the bumper height laws changed and US cars were delivered at the same ride height as the ROW cars.
