heater blowers

would blowers in floor not work if rear heat blower was bad ??i ran power to frount blower and they are working so i know there not bad. i know rear motor is bad . could they be wired inline ?thanks in advance

hmm you could put them in line..but will not fix your burnt out mtr if thats what the deal is......they are separate entities

I think they are connected somehow because when my blower in the rear was going bad it caused the foot well blowers not to work, put in a new rear blower and the fronts worked great, I even put the old one back in and had the same result,,its must be a German thing?

Yep, gotta fix the rear before the fronts will work.

I did the grainger motor R&R for the rear motor and it worked well.

Two choices, repair the rear blower or buy the backdate duct and backdate the heat.

Sounds like you have automatic heat. I believe in that case the rear blower needs to be operational for the footwell blowers to operate. There have been a few threads dealing with work arounds for removing the rear blower and tricking the system to allow the footwell blowers to operate.

Auto or manual heat, if you don't have voltage thru the rear blower, you don't have footwell blowers.

well this is interesting.l am backdating my 84 Carrera heat and with the rear blower disconnected my footwell blowers work fine.l have manual heat...
