Last pics before winter sleep

Unusually beautiful weather the other day. Expecting winter any day now here in Sweden.

Yep...same thing for me in Canada. My baby (1984 Targa) is now in for the deep winter sleep. It`s OK...so we have a lot of time ahead of us to do all the things to be done on the car and continue to dream of Summer time...

Ah, yes. Besides all common cold viruses, the upgrade flu virus hits you hard comes winter. Very contagious too. Most viruses are spread threw direct contact, some by droplets but this seems to spread threw the Internet as well. Particularly on sites like this.

Getting awfully close . . .

Mine is on jackstands as I attempt my first valve adjustment. I'm hoping for a last run or two in the next weeks. Nov 15 is my target. And since I store off-site, I can't work on it. Except - maybe I'm rebuild the Nippondenso & make the fuel lines & paint the wheel centers & . . .

Good luck with your projects, Ian.

I'm in Chicago and am looking at wiring my garage for 22/240 @ 30A to ensure I can install my first electric garage heater.

For what?

Reading Pelican posts on the wi/fi laptop and working on the 78Sc during the coming cold Chicago winter months.

Don't stop working -- start modifying!!!

I'm a Chicagoan also and Bi-soxual (CUBS Fan that is rooting for the White Sox) GO SOX.

The garage queen is put away for the winter couldn't drive it now even if we have a couple of nice days because I don't carry liability from October to April.

Next thing to do would be to remove the summer tires from the Bimmer and install a set of all season tires.

The concept of not being able to drive a car during the winter is just odd to me... I understand it though. Those of us in the south will keep on drivin, and y'all can live vicariously through us!

you should all treat yourself to driving a 911 in the snow damn nice feeling and alot of fun.

Yrs ago the only way I talked my wife into letting me buy one was cuz I convinced her it was the ultimate driving machine in the snow, kinda like a snowmobile, it worked for me

Soooo, slap on a set of studless snow tires and get out there and have some fun, you will never park it again.

Hey, I live in Indiana. It does get cold, and at times snowy, but what the hey. ITS JUST COLD AIR. I drive mine when its cold and its just like any other car, you turn the heater on. These are not Picasso's, so get out and drive them when you can.

John (Jastx), thanks for noticing !

Winter "sleep" for my car just means it will have to put with longer periods sitting bored in the garage. Every dry weather day I try to get out and drive at least 30 - 45 minutes to moisturize the lady..

Lots of comments here...But what we talked about is not some flakes of snow and around zero temp...It is temperature of -30 C and lot of salt on the road...Sorry but my 911 will pass the winter in the heat of the garage.

Thumbs up

Be drivin' mine until the snow hits. There is a 60% chance this winter will be warmer than normal; if that's the case I'll be driving through Christmas. I will still have a couple of months to pull the motor/tranny for a major cleanup operation.
