I belive this spoiler technically known as the pig wing to thouse in the know, was actually the inspiration for the whale tail!

they swapped from using boars in the early stages of testing as pigs had less hair and therefore were more airodynamic like swimmers with shaved heads.

Probably just finished testing the old addage on the autobahn, "When pigs fly..." Hence the beginning of the slang name for Porsche - Porkchop.
