blaupunkt monterey/Alpine CD
How do you select AM on this radio? There are two buttons LW and MW, which should be AM and a shortwave bandwidth, but pushing them does nothing. Sorry - manual was no help on this one!
If I decide to install a CD player, any suggestions on which Alpine model is a good choice? Thanks, Joe |

Just about all of the Alpines are pretty good units. It just depends on the features and visuals you want that determines the price.
As far as Blaupunkt goes, I've had two replaced because of failures in the electronics or motor mechanisms.

The buttons on the Montereys are a problem in that they will eventually fail and pushing them gets no response. Usually, it is the radio preset buttons that go first, since they are pressed more often. Perhaps, this is your problem. If so, they can be fixed. I use a guy by the name of Walter Odemer, out in California. JR |
