Elephant Racing Packages

Just been over to have a look at anything new at the Elephant Racing site, and found that Chuck now has a great suspension package finder application here

I like the look of Street / Track 1, and wondered if anyone had experience of actually buying as a package from Chuck. Post your pictures and impressions of this new service - takes the hard work out of selecting the components to buy.

Example, I see he includes Hollow Sway Bars but not Monoballs in Street / Track 1, whereas to the un-initiated (i.e. me) I might have selected the reverse.

Appreciate parts are also available here at Pelican, and not in any way trying to push trade one way or the other.

I bought full set of suspension bearings and uprated torsion bars from Chuck. Top quality parts and good bloke to deal with.
Parts fitted perfectly - no problems at all.

I used the tool yesterday to help select the parts I should get, and then placed the order with Pelican as I was after some other parts that ER did not have at the same time I used the Street/Track 1 to select the following parts for my 911:
.- Low-Friction Control Arm Mount Kit - Elephant Racing
.- Bump Steer Kit
.- 22.5mm Front Hollow Torsion Bar
.- Elephant Racing, Front Poly Bronze Suspension Bushings

22 mm front torsionbar! That will be a stiff ride. What will you use in the rear?

Are you going to track the car or just street?

I will do the back later, but was going to go to 28 when I get to it. The car will be 99% street - but weekend fun only I read the tech article (http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_torsion_bars/911_torsion_bars.htm) and ER tool to help me with the selection - do you think I have gone to stiff??

Kroggers,

I think 22.5 hollow is like a 23mm solid, but cannot be sure.

From what I have read, that is pretty stiff for a street car.

Chuck previously suggested 22/29 and I see lots of cars on here with that setup.

Others run 23/31 but that seems stiff - also depends on the types of raod you drive on, as uneven road surface will make a stiff car 'skip' from side to side through bumpy corners etc.

If it isn't too late, drop Chuck an e-mail direct for advise - he is very helpful.

I have no experience, but I think it could be a little stiff for 99% street, you don´t want to get tired of the car...

I will go to 21/27 maybe 21/28, but I´m also thinking stock(19)/27.

Mine will be mostly street but also Auto-X (Porsche Club Slalom).

Thank you Ian and Magnus, I have already sent a quick email to Pelican to ask if it is to late to change my order from 22 to 21mm bars... If not, then I will fit the 22mm bars and see how it feels..

If its to late, you could always resale them i Sweden if you don´t like them. Big torsionbars are at short supply....
