Auto heat control '87 930
I have a situation were the inside temp sensor blower- the device that provides feedback to the control heater unit - runs constantly even when the control unit dial is set to 0... the system works fine with through the rest of the dial setting ranges with the 7,8,9 and defrost settings kicking in the aux fan assemblies. I recently purchased the car and dont remeber hearing the rats cage blower in the dash sensing unit... my question is is the zero setting on the dial supposed to cut th eckt to the sensor blower and shut it down or is it supposed to run continuosly. I have looked at the wiring schematic and see that there is a resistor and a blower relay involved as well as the connection to the control unit.. the control unit has some mirco switches- for the aux fan kick in at levels 7-8-9-defros and has a transitorized board that controls the currant to the solenoid that accuates the cable to the heater box butterfy baffle...
Before I take everthing apart I thought I would check with board members... it may be that it is supposed to run continously... but then again maybe the selector switch isnt shunting the ckt..
Any thoughts.....
