Steering U-Joint

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A quick question if you please.

When you loosen the steering U-Joint in the secret compartment that attaches the angled steering shaft to the steering rack, should the U-Joint be able to move around the splined shaft.

I installed the bump steer kit (rack spacers), and when I loosened the U-Joint I was able to spin it on the splined rack shaft easily by turning the steering wheel.

This doesn't sound to secure to me. I would have thought it would be like the steering wheel, where the nut is only there to locate the two joints so that the spline takes all the "responsibility" for holding the two together.

Thankyou in advance.
