HotRod Yellow Targa Update.....it looks like a car.

Well last weekend I got some time to put a few more things back on the car. The windshield is in place, but just needs to be roped in. The rear glass is still waiting on trim and then it can go back in. Otherwise I think just about everything is back on the car. Some wires need to be connected and it is going to need one hell of a cleaning, but come spring it should be ready for the road.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The only thing I am debating is whether or not to do the black stripe where the deco trim went and some script down the side.

Ben, I will email you tonight.......and Jays car should be coming out Friday.

Wow... I hope Stinky looks that nice someday... but I think I'll keep the deco strips on... at least for a while!

One more vote for the clean look - I hope to ditch my deco one day - along with the front overriders. They look like walrus tusks!
You've got that ride lookin' smooth, keep it that way!

Kevin,
Your car looks great - big congratulations. It looks like it might be Sahara Beige, Color #516, do you know the color name/number?

My car was just painted, not yet color sanded and polished as I am having the headliner swapped out on Saturday, then back for glass, color sanding and polishing.

Here is Sahara, hard to see how yellow it really is, doesn't photograph true to color.

With a job that nice, I would keep the stripes off for a while. When you want to change the look, stripes are fast and easy. If it were me, I would leave them off and then when tired of the look add the -- PORSCHE -- script on the doors. When you get tired of that go for the bumper stripes. Mix and match, change them around.

Nice car, I have the same year and model and am once again inspired. What yellow is that? Did you add flares to the rear quarters? One picture looks like SC flares back there.

The car was originally light yellow, but I wanted to keep it that color or very close to it. My wife owned an Audi A4 a couple of years back in a very similar color. Her and I actually like the color so much we went with it. It is Audi Brilliant yellow. I didn't paint certain parts of the car in the jambs and the color is very close to light yellow. So close in fact most people can't tell when I show them. That being said it does change colors in lights and can actually take on a slightly green hue under certain lights.

As for the rear I put on SC flares and 8inch wheels. I am still fiddling with getting the fit on the rear bumper perfect because I did something a little different back there, but I will have pics when I get it right.

Thanks for all the advice, I am thinking I will keep the stripes off for a while. However, I will put the PORSCHE in black on the duck tail.
