Part description Please
Group,
I purchased my 1985 Porsche 911 from this site about 6 months ago. I have nothing but good things to say about using this web site and the people that use it. The process I went through to get the car was easier then dealing with a dealership. Now to get to the problem. I posted a question about 4 months ago about a idle hunting problem. The hunting only seemed to happen when the car was at operating conditions. Last Saturday was the first time I have gone over the engine compartment completely. I found the air intake mounting bracket was loose. I have since tightened the bolts that were loose. Reading some of the older posts on this problem people mentioned quite a few things to look at. The first picture shows what looks like a solenoid, but I'm not sure. The wire was broken off and needs to be fixed. I plan on fixing this tomorrow and taking it on a drive to see if the hunting problem goes away. Can someone tell me what this part is and what is its function?(pic1). Also the second picture shows a three pronged connection which plugs into something. I'm not sure what its function is as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The engine is a 3.2L Just in case you need to know. Thanks in advance Stressed http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131171675.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131171691.jpg |
The first pic shows a broken wire to the oil pressure sender.

2nd pic shows the idle stabilizer valve. If this is dirty or not connected properly you will have... a non stable idle! Search for some solutions,
