Any advice re: trading wheels?

Was asked if i wanted to straight trade my original black '88 Fuchs for a set of 1990 C2 silver wheels and offsets. Is this a fair deal for both parties? Any reasons i should not do it- assuming the colour swap is acceptable? They seem to update the car a decade or so but its no longer original...

Thanks all !

The Fuchs are worth more IMHO than the C2 wheels. What size are the Fuchs? Buy a set of C2's and keep the Fuchs, the car will be worth more, if you ever sell it, with the original wheels.

Don't do it. You will be getting the short end of the stick.

Some more info would be helpful. Show a pic of the wheels you are offered for trade and also let us know your wheel sizes. While Fuchs are generally more $, the 6 and 7" wide sets aren't crazy expensive. If you have 7 and 8s, there is no way in hell I'd trade them.

They are 16"- 7&8's - sorry no pix/ digital camera. Really appreciate your feedback. I quite like the black wheels that match rest of car...

Yep- your 7 & 8x16 Fuchs are worth $1000-$1900 depending on condition.

His C2 silver (chrome) wheels would probably be tough to sell for more than $300-$400.

PLus if you swapped you'd need to buy spacers and longer lugnuts to accommodate the incorrect offsets.

Keep what you have. The 16x 7 & 8 Fuchs are one of the best combo's you can have. The c2 wheels are worth 1/4 to 1/3 what your Fuchs are.

Oboy, 7 and 8s? I hope this guy isn't a friend. He is either not well informed, or it is time to look for a new friend!

Fuchs look best on our era cars and that's not just because they came with them.
