She's starting to look like she may actually drive again

Got the "heavy lifting" done. Suspension all hung and torqued up.

Hey wait, these aren't the same calipers I took off...

The new shoes, what do you think of the look? I'm used to polished paddles. Definitely more meat, but I'm not sure I want to take a chance on the Avons at the next DE, so I may get another set of S-03's or Eagle F1's. These tires were about brand new and came with the wheels when I bought them.

Still have 3 brake lines to make, remove the PV and install the turbo m/c, then it's off to RUF for align and balance.

Did you redo the rotors yourself? I really like the look of it. Did you make sure the CV bolts are tight while you're down there?

Matt: Thanks. I'm not sure of what you mean by redoing the rotors? They're new and part of the rehab project.

I did get my CV's tight. After reading the current thread on people seeing these loosening, you can bet I'll check them after I test drive it.

Ah, I see. I thought you turned the rotors (as in shaved the surfaces to the appropriate thicknesses). You're lucky with your "new" suspension. It makes me want to go out and check the CV's since I've never checked them in my ownership . I bet you can't wait until you finally get to drive it. Tell us what the improvements of a new suspension are after you take it for a spin so we can eat our hearts out.

By the way, are those Toyo Proxes RA-1's on your car? If so, they seem to be favored a lot by the P-car community.

No, those are Avon Tech M500's. They were on the wheels when I bought them, so I know nothing about how they do at this point.

Big blacks it is. They're stock 993 calipers front and rear.

BTW, thanks for the kind words.

Looks Great Ed! Are you taking it to Ruf for the alignment? Hans is great to work with.

Yes, stock Carrera on the rear, and the 309 X 32mm Willwoods on the front. Should be able to stop the car..

Yeppers, since I don't tend to take it in for work, when I finally do, I want to be able to say I have RUF dial in my suspension. I need to be a snob once in a while.

I hope to have it to them the week after this next one, as I've got three pretty much back-back trips over the next two weeks.

Vicariously living through you, Ed.

FWIW, I'm taking my minivan in for an alignment next week too.
