1970 2.2 Oil Pressure?
My Dad and I have rebuilt a 1970T 2.2 and are ready to start if for the first time.
Should the oil pressure read like the Druck/Pressure on my 1988 911 3.2? The gauge reads 0-20-60-100-140, so at idle where should the pressure be, and so on? |

If you crank it over with the ignition disabled, you should be able to raise some oil pressure at cranking speed. 10 to 20 lbs on the gauge, or a seperate external gauge if you have one.
Once you start it, pressure should be around 20lbs at idle. 60 or so as a regulated max - possibly higher, mine goes to about 80 when cold with Mobil 1 15W 50 on board. Do a search here for initial running in procedure - pretty important to do it right the first 30 minutes or so on a fresh set of rings & bearings..
