![]() The Carrera 964 Out of the technological advances of the 959 came the first four-wheel drive 911. The 1989 Carrera 964. Although substantially new, the model retained the classic Porsche shape and air-cooled engine. Another unique feature of the 964, its rear spoiler. At rest the 964 displayed only an air-inlet grille in the rear deck. An electronic motor did the deploying of the spoiler at speeds above 50 mph. While retracting it at speeds under 10 mph. With these additions and that of four-wheel drive, the 911 achieved a whole new level of performance and road-gripping power. Last edited by Sonic dB; 11-08-2005 at 11:19 PM.. |
