I've been looking at this book regularly for a few years now and just noticed it tonight.
I wonder if this was done intentionally? some sort of where's waldo gag?

What's wrong with this picture?
I'm buying this car as we speak, would like to know if I should inquire about any problems in this photo. I'm a bit of a newbie, car is going in for a PPI, probably this week.
Thanks, Jerry |

I'm sure this was corrected before the engine was completed.
how many times has this car sold since being used for this book?

101 projects car
I think just once prior to myself. From the threads I've seen and talking to the current owner, he bought it from Wayne early 04 or late 03? Maybe earlier than that.

I'm not positive I'm thinking of the same car but if the current owner lived in San Diego and recently moved to texas, he was discussing selling the car last month.

REdbeard has the metallic black 82SC that Wayne used to own
& yes it is for sale.....not sure if "this" motor was from that car, though. I looked at & drove it prior to purchasing my 996. - Cam

Yep, redbeard was who I was thinking of.
His car played a part in the projects book but prolly wasn't the only one. First time I saw that black metallic 911 was at dunkel's in 2000? It had duct tape around the sunroof to keep it from leaking. Perfect candidate for at least some of the 101 projects.

That picture is not on the back cover of my copy of 101 Projects... I have it right here. It's a recent publish/copy, though. I just got it this week.

PPI finished today. Current owner has been a class act to deal with. Car came through with flying colors and I'll be heading to Houston to pick it up on the 19th.
Road trip! I'll be driving to Tucson to visit my parents and heading up the coast home right after Thanksgiving. Any recommendations for stops or sites along the way? Thinking about getting a valentine v1 before I leave. Looking forward to the drive and learning more about the car. http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/jhynesrockmtn/
