Removed FG duck tail, replaced w/ original engine lid. I thought I had it lined up properly (did not) now it is stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like a dumb -ss, please help me remedy this situation.

Stuck Engine Lid......

Lusso,

Did you try lifting the engine lid with someone pulling the latch cable at the same time? Had similar problem in the past and was lucky to pop it open. Good luck........

Same problem but mine was lid shocks were shot, see if you can find someone to pull up the lid when you pull the cable latch.

Had that happen once and couldn't break it free even with a second person pulling on the cable. Ended up cutting the grill to fit a hand and hex key in and loosened the screws holding the brackets to the lid. Destroyed the grill and had to buy a new one, not too big of a deal. Loosening the screws allows the lid to move enough to get the latch undone.
Good luck

ouch !!!!!!!!!! All you have to do is turn the pull knob counterclockwise until the knob comes off . Thats how it was designed . Once cable tension is released the latch will go to full open position . Same goes for the front . Ive seen people use hole saws to acess the front . Try it . It works . Thats what the procedure is when realigning and hood or decklid so it does not get stuck . Again just remove the knob . You will feel like a magician .

pjv911, I will do this asap. I've tried the other person pulling while I "jimmy" the lid. Got tired so I replaced my RS fixed back Race seats for a more comfy pair of period hens teeth seats.
Thanks for the info I will go out to try right now.
Thanks,
Dave

Some have had luck in driving over a driveway approach at an angle, thus inducing some twist in the chassis. I guess you'd have to go at it from both directions.

Here's a tip to prevent this from happening again. Adjust the plunger so that it enters the receiver a little on the long side. IOW, a little more toward the rear on the deck. The arc that the lid makes actually brings the plunger toward the front of the car as it goes into fully closed position in is off center.

If you got it off center side to side, I can't help you.

Dave, Milt has a valid point . If its really off the male head will get caught in the receiver so push from side to side with the latch realeased . Between both methods it should be easy enough . Dont use a pry bar ! Just your hands and some body english .

PJV thanks for the tip! I hope I never need it but that's great info!

Is that how you remove the T-Handle on the front latch. I want to get at the key lock tumblers to change them.

Hugh, cant help you on the locking type. I never tried one of those . But regardless how that type of handle comes off , as long as you release the cable tension you are as good as in .
