How to close the gap between Side window and Targa Seal
First, thanks to suggestions to keep the Clips engaged to the Targa frame. The Dowel idea worked sweet! No air today.
Now...I've got this gap between the top of each side window when rolled up and the Targa rubber seal, which is new on both sides. How do I close this gap? Thanks, forum. Dan |
If its a lateral gap, the seal plate is slotted and can be laterally adjusted.

Additionally, if the door trim panel is removed, the window has an adjustable stop that can regulate how far up the window travels. This method is a b!tch though, so try Greg's suggestion first. When you do, don't overtighten the little sheet metal screws that secure the seal to the targa frame; they are easy to strip!

Also with the door panel off, there is a second allen bolt that controls the "tilt" of the window when viewd form outside the car. It adjusts the "parralelism of the top to the glase to the seat on the targa top side rubber. I just adjusted both of my windows after extensive refinishing. Had to re adjust all three planes several times to get each window just right. Not hard, but tedious.
