Question Heat Backdate tube length / options

I am going ahead with backdating the heat on my Carrera and have gone through the previous threads on the subject. One question remains. What lengh 2.5" diameter tube is needed on the left side from the fiberglass piece? I have seen pictures where people have connected two tubes together because they were not long enough, etc. All you experience heat backdaters out there, what did you end up with?

Thanks,
Mike

You might have seen this thread in your search (take a look at the 3rd pic I posted):

Gratuitous pics of Carrera heater backdate...

Anything you order is going to be a straight piece of tubing (I went through several before I was happy with the 'look'), and you'll need to cut it to the desired length. From memory, it's less than 12", but I never really measured it...I just cut it to fit.
