Resto Questions (final Stages)
Going to the Final Stages on my 912, 1968 resto is time to decide on the Color. Clock is tickin...........
Can not decide between the Silver Color it was painted before or the original 6806 Irish Green which I can still see in some spots of the car : Hinges and Doors . I love Silver: easy to clean but this will be my last chance to return to the original color. Seen a lot of Silver Porsches here in Mexico but that kind of green only in the early 356's. Thanks for this forum a couple of weeks ago I went to the Flight 28th Show in Phoenix Az. and talking with a Judge he told me that they do not like the glossy finish on the tires , instead they use "Pledge" furniture product and noticed that they have a lot of different types of it . Which is the one they normally use ? The furniture wood type or which other one?. ![]() Thanks. JL Garcia 912, 1968 Toluca, Mexico.

I don't know if this helps, but with all things in life like this I "always go with my gut". Its right almost everytime. You've probably been thinkkng about this a bunch. Just think deep down and go with what your sub-conscious has probalby been saying all along.
Hope that wasn't too metaphisical or anthing!! ![]()

Both colors are great on an old car. What redcoupe86 said - "go with your gut"!

It depends whether you are shooting for resale value or YOUR personal enjoyment.
Dark green cars get pretty hot in the sun....but I prefer 911s in darker colors and silver has to be the most common color on the road. I would go green but she's your baby.

I would go back to the original Irish Green for resale, it is a hot color right now, much more appropriate for a 912 and I do believe that it will hold up better in long run than silver to sun damage. IMO Also a lot of silver on the road now in new cars

Jerry : Your SC is beautiful !!!!!!!!!!.
And you all have a good point : The Silver is a nice color also but it is a common color nowadays. I will keep my car original to the factory standard going to the Irish Green. The only odd is that my daily driver is ..................green also. JL Garcia 912, 1968 Toluca Mexico

Irish Green for sure.
My '66 is black but the original color is 6606 and it's going back.
