original air dam or not?

What do you think? Is this an original air dam on thsi 1980 sc? Also- were the cookie cutter wheels available in 1980? Thanks for any help.

the air dam doesn't look factory original to me
black, rubber or some other material chin spoiler is 1980 factory style

the cookies however are period correct, they are in PET for 1980

Buff, that is not a factory OE / US frt spoiler. Car looks nice, though...

Air dam, not original, cookies were factory, but 90% of these cars came with the Fuchs "upgrade" option.
The SCs had a flush lower valance with exposed fog lights.

This particular air dam looks like one that is used in conjunction with a large horizontal Turbotol / Lemke oil cooler.....

Your car has an aftermarket air dam. The cookies are like what mine came with ('78) I still have them. I made the upgrade to Fuchs but I humor the thought of using the cookies since you don't see many running that way. The tires are cheaper too. According to my tech spec book the 15" rims take a 185/70/vr15 front and a 215/60/vr15 rear. If you look at old brochures you see that the tires are rather tall in sidewall. Very 70's. Kind of retro cool to me. Even though I run 205/55/vr16 and 225/50/vr 16 rear fuchs. I once had 50s front and back and the front wheel wells were cavernous at stock ride height.

Your car has chrome window trim and that is very different for an '80 model. Mine has the identical trim.

Here it was at Texas ranch road height...
