On a Island like Aruba were you can't buy everything we still do a lot of this job's , like rewiring a alt , starter or E-Motor ! That,s no problem ! Maybe it sound's stupid, but is it possible that the climate is to warm ,so i don't get a proper warm up ???? temperature never drop's below 90 deg F !!! That would also explain the control pressure of 27 psi and why the AAR is closed after 3 min !? Is this possible ???
|
Ok guy's i am sitting here since 11 AM trying to find out what's wrong with this car ? I started the car cold without AAR, no difference, warm also no difference ! i think i have a leak !?
|
Leak is possible. I found that just regular starting fluid spray is too general; an acetylene/oxigen torch with a small nozzle can pin-point a leak much better. Try around the intake runners and vacuum lines.
I had leaks on the intake runner gaskets, breather hose to oil tank, vacuum hose to brake booster. Tighten all clamps on the hoses; I found some that had gotten loose, like on the 90 deg elbow from the top airbox to the oil tank. |

This with the Leak i have to do tomorow ,i took out the Engine today and i saw that there are 2 Hoses missing ! Fuel Distributer > Throttle Body > Throttle Body > Fuel Return ! How do you call this part of the Throttle body actually? Fig.2 I was looking in the book's ,can't find it !! Is this possible that i have the same Throttle Body like on my 74 2.7 S Coupe ?? And i made a drawing from the AAR/AAV system! Is this correct ??? |

This here site will be of great help.. Check the Vacum Diagram and the fuel as well <http://members.rennlist.com/jimwms/CIS/CIShome.html> VicSmileWavy |
There are different types WUR; some have vacuum lines, some don't.
What Bosch # is yours? Your scetch makes no sense to me. Fuel goes from the Fuel Distributor top to the WUR, then returns to the FD with a branch going to the tank for excess return. A lot of people leave the vacuum lines on the WUR disconnected without any great effect; mine are disconnected. Pictures of your CIS would help. If it's a '78 CIS, there must be an adjustable Deceleration valve. Give us the WUR number and some pix of your CIS, rear, left, and right. :) Here is another diagram: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1132499942.jpg |
Ok , i replaced the WUR#0438 140 045 with the one i ordered from Pelican Part's # 3911-606-105-09-M14
Warm Up Regulator, 911 (1978-79) Brand: Bosch !!! And as you can see on the back of the Throttle Body there are 2 nipples(holes) wich are not conected on the 78 but on my 74 2.7s Coupe like Fig.1 on my scetch ! And here are 5 Pics !!! |

You have to revew your AAR vacum conection and position because according to the diagran and taking my car as a reference your AAR is probably not properly conected and located. The AAR is locaten over the #5 cilinder. Use the diagram as a gide. And the AAV vacum lines have to be verifien VicSmileWavy |
Thank's Vic ! I'm not goining to put the Engine back in the car till i'm 100% sure that everything is properly conected and all Clamps are thight ! But does it make a big difference if i put the AAR on top of the 5th cylinder instead of the 2nd ???
I also would like to know for what are the 2 conections on the Trottle Body above the cold start valve (Pic.4) and how you call this part of the Throttle Body ??? |
KASI
I beleive that you are asking about the TPS or Throttle Position Regulator or Throttle Switch. Is my understanding that the one in the right goes to the Ignition Dist. , and the other goes to the vacumm buster. VicSmileWavy |
Vic
I don't know ,it wasn't conected ! But on my 74 this works with control pressure ! In the middle of the Fuel distr. that's the line what goes to yhe WUR! Right ? And then there is the one what goes to the Throttle Position Regulator ! WUR Nr# 0438 140 ! Gunter was asking for !! |
Vic
You can see it also on the diagram on the webside you have given me (members.rennlist.com) |
Vic
You can see it also on the diagram on the webside you have given me (members.rennlist.com) And what about the EGR Valve ? It's only for california ,can i remove it and plug the vacum lines ? |
The two conections go as follows. The small One to the Ign. Dist. Advance side and the biger one goes to the ventury via acoper tube to the Air Box to where you have the AAR conected. Youi have to veryffy this connections very very careffuly . It seems to me that you have few parts missing here check the configuration in my SC Your car vacum has been configured diferently. Besides the frequency valve is not used in your car

This cars are very triki from year to year, and even in the same year there are diferent configurations . You should re-trace the fuel and vacum lines to Specs. I have a PDF file that can help but I'm having difficultyes uploading . I'll try and try Ok . I'll let you know. in regard to temperaure I'm located in PR so is no different from Aruba Vic |
