Bumer - Glad you guys are taking it in stride... That is why I dislike Sears point... there is zero runoff anywhere... 15 DEs and never an issue, one day at sears and I spun between 2 concrete walls... that was when they were remodeling the track a few years back, it was muddy...
I much prefer thunderhill in your area, for its absence of walls and for all its cool blind crests and elevation changes.. Of course now that I left Marin and moved to in FL, it's pretty much Sebring and nothing else - there are worse fates though... Me, It warms my heart to see black beauty receive a purple heart now and then, rather than it being a garage queen ! You go Jack !!! Last edited by Deschodt; 11-17-2005 at 10:42 AM.. |

Even with the walls and short run outs, it's an incredibly technical track that rewards hitting the corners right. If you hit 2 right, you are in the right place for 3 and 3a. Hit 3a right, and you are perfect for 4. (and hit it really wrong....) The back esses too. There's no time to relax and reposition the car between corners. So for a newbie like me, I thought it was a good track to learn because the threats made me focus on the line, not speed.
That being said, I'm looking forward to Thunder Hill in just 24 hours! I agree with you about BBII - I'm happy seeing it used and not polished. Jack would agree that it's a great 10 foot car, but closer than that you can see it's a track monster. I feel the same way about the guys that race in the Historics - taking old metal and flogging them around the track is much better than collecting dust in their garage. That's what the cars are for. Don
