The snow is falling :(

Bummer...the snow is now falling (that means road salt...eventually). Time to hunker down...I wanted to change the transmission oil....Should I wait until I can drive (warm-up the oil)....? Maybe I'll dive into that valve adjustment instead....

Exactly. Does "snow" have something to do with what you call "winter storage". Please elaborate. Seriously, best of luck out there!

Go away Todd.

It'll be dry by Friday.

Don't worry everyone. Snow means the snowbunnies come out to play.

Back on topic, I think everyone goes overboard with "winter storage". Me-- drive it, put a little Stabil in the tank, drive it again, put it away, fill tires to 40+ psi, and remove the battery. Say what you want, I've never had a problem.

Snow in Toronto tonight, too. My car went for its winter sleep last night.

btw non-snow guys - esp Florida, Arizona, etc - we always think nice thoughts about you in the summer when you are melting. Be nice. Our withdrawal has just begun.

it's not about withdrawl, you see......having winter gives us something to look forward to come spring.
if we lived in lala land or the like where you always have nice weather then ANY time you want to upgrade your 911 you have to park it when you could be driving it, when it snows we can dismantle our cars for major projects with no remorse about not being able to drive the car.
at least that's what i keep telling myself

we already have an inch of the white stuff here in ohio....supposed to get a few more inches by friday.

and........who here enjoys a good snowball fight?

It snowed here last week. Again tomorrow.
Tonight, I'm changing the lock hubs on the Geo Tracker.
Winter is on the way.

We got a foot of snow last week... so sadly the car is put away until April... and I will never tease Nostatic about the cost of homes in California again.

pshaww...I'm renting an apt now. You can laugh when we have our next earthquake. Or wildfire. Or mudslide. Or race riot.

Crap, I need more ammo...

Earthquakes, wildfires, cost of living, real estate prices be damned. I'd move to Cali on a dime if it weren't for a couple things.

One of these days us northerners are going to put on our snow chains, drive down there and beat the tar out of you rubbing-it-in, palm-tree-shade-relaxing southerners!!

Last weekend was the saddest weekend of the year for me.

Wink

Hope all can enjoy the thread about the Mulholland Run on Thanksgiving day in Socal. I will try to post some pictures so that those that cannot attend can also enjoy.

Some like the winters (including my wife from Switzerland) but I prefer my 52 weekly drives on PCH in Laguna Beach!

p.s. I lived in NY/NJ for 3 years so I know how tough it can be.
Great driving roads throughout our great country.

I can recall a brand new 1974 911 being driven and left out in the snow around Christmas time in northshore burb of Chicago when I was growing up. Wonder what ever happened to that car?

There is a great 68 hard window sporto targa driver for sale on this site for a great price. If I lived in the snow belt I would buy it in a minute to use as my winter driver. You wouldn't have to worry as its not a concours contender, price is great, nice driver with lots of good qualities/recent rebuild and just a bubble or two of rust. It would be a hoot with that sporto to drive a P car yr round if I lived in the snow belt (not that there is anything wrong with that)
