Signal yellow? Definitely. Speed Yellow? Not period correct but very cool. Bahama Yellow? Sorry. Not for me.

Hey Erwin
I'm pretty sure Rob Dickinson's car is Bahama Yellow. It looked fabulous in the flesh last year at Ventura... ![]()

Im in the same boat as you, my 911 is originally Bahama Yellow and im trying to decide whether i could handle it as i would like to go back to original if possible. I have seen a few pics around but none on hand..... try googling it or something. ill post some pics when i get to my other computer. It is a very orangy yellow kind of like the above foto but not sure if thats exactly the same....could be, its hard to tell seeing ive never seen it in the flesh and pics tend to vary a lot.

I'm going to get Phil Hearn to do the mechanical work and get him to organise the body work.

Looks like Bahama is very "era-correct".
My car is Sahara Beige and I struggled with the decision to paint it original or another color. Now that it is done, I love it (hate the name though) and it doesn't look ANYTHING like "beige". I suspect Bahama is the same. From Bobby's picture, if you didn't know the name, you'd say its sort of a light burnt orange. Having lived thorugh that era? Its just what would have been popular. If you spend the money to do it right...It'll look great.

Here's my Bahama Yellow 67S. I really dig the color, but it's just a tad darker than original. I found some remnance of the original paint underneath, and it's really pretty close though.

Yes it's Bahama Yellow. I shot his in a two stage PPG. It's a very strange color either well liked or not at all.

I bought a 356SC coupe in '67 that was repainted in Bahama yellow. It was definitely a popular color back then.
I was afraid I'd get "red car syndrome" from it, but I actually ended up liking it a lot. (I can post pics when I get home.)

Bahama Yellow is a perfect color for our Porsches! It is period correct, noticeable from a distance (without screeming "Give me a ticket") and suits the narrow body, long hood look we love so much.
My Bahama Yellow ride (daytime shots coming): ![]() ![]() Stick with Bahama Yellow ... it will put a smile on your face every time you see it! Regards, Charlie

Paint it Bahama Yellow.....
I really think the early colors look good on these cars. Bahama Yellow has got to be one of the most unique colors of the era. And I wont mention anything of the increased value $$$$ ,if your car is the original color. Just do it.... |

I don't know why......for modern cars I can't stand most of the fad colors the mainstream manufacturers come up with. For me it's got to be black, silver, white or red.
But I love those bizarre colors on the early 911s I do think one of the keys is a top notch paint job....otherwise it looks faded, dated, off, odd. Done right I think these colors stand out above the "normal" . BTW - I'm peru red. I think it looks like some kind of polished/glazed terra cotta stone. Others call it orange, copper, brown, etc..... but I've never seen another one that color (at least in person).
