harness sub belt-how to add?
I have recently installed a used set of Corbeau CR1 seats. These have the cutouts on the backrest for harness's to come thru but does not have a slot in the seat for a anti-sub belt. So other than cutting a slot in the seat is there a alternate way of mounting the sub belt? I want to use harnesses for autocross and DE's and am under the impression that I have to have a 5 point for DE's. Or can you get away with 4 point? Help me out here guys:) Thanks

Sub-belt - I made my own sub slots
There's a lot of debate on this list regarding belts. The DE's that I've run do not require harnesses, however after doing a lot of research I felt better getting the best harnesses I could (IMO). I got a set of 6 point Shroth and am very happy.
My car was equipped with an older set of cloth Recaros that did not have a sub-belt slot. I put slots in myself. I was a little worried in that I'm generally very particular about any mods to the car being functional but also maintaining very high aesthetics. I cut an 8" slot in the cloth cover and completely through the foam cushion. I then hand stitched in a cloth "tube" to provide a liner through the cushion. I doubt too many would ever notice that the seats did come that way. |
Either run a single sub through the seat bottom, or run dual subs over the seat sides and sit on them. Do not run the sub over the seat front.
Personally, I'd go with the dual sub six-point set up. |

Use 6 point sub, attached back where the lap belts are attached & sit on them. Len |
