is this caused by a defective ignition switch? or are there other Scenarios to consider?

Find the buzzer, pull it, inspect it, give it the float test....

mmmm...the float test! i never thought of that. is that something like the "duck" test?
i know these things can fail, but what i don't know is it trying to tell me something, and if so this is what i want to fix. I'm not big on covering up a problem, i would rather find it and understand what caused it then fix it. its my therapy!

Check the charging system just to make sure it isn't over charging. If thats okay....then chuck the buzzer.

I have not recieved a recall notice on it yet. I did find an article in the paper about it a few months back though. I have it on my tool box at work. Just waiting for the call. The only recall I have gotten on it was for the filler neck. (some kind of rubber sleeve to prevent rubbing on the cab) I love that truck!

The buzzer is a relay which lives behind the speedo. You can reach it from the front trunk area. There are a few relays there so have some wrench show you which one it is...and yank it. I took mine out a year or so ago...never been happier.
