Any of you other guys forced to watch Desparate Houswives see it? Well, I guess I wasn't really forced

They cracked the block on the motor I think. The studio has to pay for a new motor. I think DaveB has been pushing the studio to get Tyson paid. It really sucks. I have a friend who rented his 69 GTO for a Rollins video and they scratched a showroom pait job.

This is not good. Hope that he makes a lot of money out of them, they sure are with the TV series.

I don't know the full story but I think Tyson rented his car to a studio who makes the tv show "Desparate Housewives". Last nites episode ended with a C2 cab burning.

Never rent a car (that you like) to a studio - bad things happen.

I guess Dave, on occasion, preps Porsches for Hollywood productions. When I saw the burned-up shell at TRE Thursday, I asked what it was. Tyson said it was a lot like his old car.

It is possible in L.A. to drive around and see parts of a movie parked right on the street or in parking lots.

Forever, the giant all-terrain six-wheeled behemoth from "Damnation Alley" used to be parked in a lot on Cahuenga. Off on the side of Riverside Drive, is a gigantic studio fan that was probably used in something regarding the new King Kong movie. On Forest Lawn Drive, are where the extras and workers for the new Poseidon Adventure park - there are signs everywhere pointing to the lot.

It's also possible to have someone from a production company stop you on the street, and ask to borrow your car for a shot. Of course, after you agree, all bets are off the table, and they do to the car whatever they want - even wreck it. But they're always good about paying you back - sometimes with a newer, better model.

So you want that GT-3, huh?

As a guy in the film production biz I would say don't ever let a production use your car without a big deposite paid in advance. Music videos in particular are often made by some pretty fly by night companies and they may not be around to cover damages after the fact. Just remember that a lot of film production is done without the backing of a major studio.

We had a 911 come into the shop after it had been in a 50 Cent video. Not pretty.

Dang, I missed it! I hope my girlfriend recorded it.

Yeah, they did body damage when the burn-out went awry, and they ran over a light box. Then cracked the case when exiting the parking lot (?) and bottomed out badly.

I'm using the money to pay off my parts bill at work, and then buy the '72 roller from Shuie. I'll fix the C2 when I get around to it.

Yeah, and don't let them film inside or around your house, either. Sure, you can make like $10K a day, but they'll thrash the place.
