Off set dist,anyone know why???? or how
 

This is a 77 turbo. I looked at several dist and on the number #1 notch/tdc the magnetic pick up's line up on top dead center..

Car runs with timing way out of spec, not great but runs.
MSD gave it 95% better runnung, instead of 8 pin bosch

But my only thing, is the line up internal of the dist. I have a lists of notes from progress through the years, several tech's and friends have all said that they are suppose to line up on TDC...

Agree or disagree???????? if so, how would the inner offset? Yes the inner pin is in place..

Parts numbers indicate it is a 76-77

Dist. gear off a tooth when last intalled???

Thanks Warren. i looked at a turbo dist right now, and the inner is a few degree's off for advance... i didnt see that..
