Who is the best interior supplier for a 73 911
I am restoring my 73 T MFI back to original factory specifications and I need to find a supplier that carries the complete interior (seats, door panels, trim etc) in the original style and color for my car. It is light brown almost caramel in color with some black trim. ( I do not know the factory name for it yet)
Any help here would be great. Thank you in advance

World Upholstery
Autos International You might also try Autobahn Interiors. I met Tony Garcia, the owner, at the recent German Auto Fest, and was very impressed by him. Whatever you do, stay away from Original Fit Interiors. Decent prices, but horrific customer service.

A lot of owners on the Early 911S board have had
success with Tony Garcia of Autobahn Interiors. I believe he use to work for Autos Intl. Give him a call, he knows Porsche interiors/uphols. AutoBahn Interiors Tony Garcia 330 16th st San Diego, CA 92101 619-546-4807

Tony Garcia of Autobahn Interiors got my interior work after I spent most of this year looking around. I should have it back late next month.

As I said, I met Tony Garcia at the German Auto Fest, and was very impressed. It's good to see he's getting some "buzz" here.

Appbiz seems to be a good bang for the buck supplier, based on some complaints on the Early 911s bbs re it not being up to concours snuff. What do people who have used it think ?
The OFI complaints center on extreme lead times and lack of notice...

I can speak highly of Tony's work at Autobahn. He "rebuilt" the original seats in my 73 T by restitching the pleats and adding new horsehair and repairing a loose seam and welting by using matching vintage material from another old seat. He turned a tired pair of original seats into concours quality and they feel good to sit in. He really knows his business and is a pleasure to work even long distance.

Here's seat (one of a pair) that Tony did for me recently. He's also restoring a Targa top for me, and re-wrapping a 914/6 380mm wheel for me.

Here is Tony's work on a 914-6 wheel with two thin layers of leather. Call him directly for price in case it has changed since mine was done. Not easy to do two layers correctly but this one is perfect.

No one mentioned GAHH, is there a reason?
I just had a new Autos International sunroof headliner (bought at German Autofest) installed yesterday. My car is newly repainted and the interior is coming up as soon as I take the car back to the paint shop for final color sand/polish and reassembly. Here's my problem - at some point someone spent big $$$ to have the dash and the entire interior done, they are in GREAT condition EXCEPT the front seats - they look like hell. All the rest just needs a damned good cleaning and Vinylex. Unfortunately, the PO put in some weirdo square (?!!) speaker covers that will leave indentions in the vinyl when I remove them. Since it is unlikely the redone seats will match the older redo and the door panels will have to be redone to eliminate the weird speaker indents, I almost have to do an entire upholstery job to make it look right with the rest of the restored car. My car is going to be a real nice resto job, but not concours and its not an early car - so I can't justify BIG bucks. World or GAHH? I think Autos Int'l and probably Autobahn are too spendy.

Thanks for posting my photo of your seat, Eric.
Another vote for autobahn Interiors. Tony is a great guy and easy to work with.

Beautiful seat and its difficult at times to find the early herringbone fabric. I have a original early 70's seat that needs to be redone and this is a good thread for it.
