Garage Flooring

Anyone have experience with BLT Technologies, G-Floor Brand floor cover? I want to lay it down during the winter when the (cough...cough) MiniVan, moves into the garage with real car.

Since we have pretty rough winters around here, I'm hoping the groved nature of this floor will help keep slush and crap from floating all over the place.

My concern is its in stock at Menards which is not know for their quality. Is this stuff any good or garbage?

Thanks,
Jeff

I don't know about that brand, but I do know that if the rubber mat isn't heavy enough it'll roll up on you after your car sits there a while. My Dad put a cheap rubber mat down and that's what it did. He then put down a (more expensive) heavier gauge mat and since then no problems. I guess you get what you pay for sometimes.

Good Luck!

I researched it somewhat.

They are located close to me but I can't buy it from them locally; go figure.

Anyway, I think it's a good alternative to the more expensive options. Getting it to lay flat may be an issue in the winter. In the summer, I'd just drag it out and leave it in the hot sun until it got soft. I'm sure it will eventually get flat even in winter. I considered the style with the ridges to alllow me to push the water toward the door. Probably works great for collecting the water if you wash the car indoors. For this reason, I liked the ridged version better than the coin style. If I'm not mistaken, either Lowe's or Home Depot keeps samples in their carpet department. Can't remember which. You probably already have it but here's their website.

That's what I want to do is keep water contained and sweep it out. I can warm it up to flatten it by heating the garage.

I have the Menard's stuff in the daily driver garage. It holds up pretty well and does the job of water containment. It isn't the same quality as the more expensive, but......it is cheaper. It's been down for over a year and shows little wear. I've got the linear ribbed one to help control melted snow.

Works fine, looks OK

Luke, thanks for the feedback. It sounds like that will work for me. The racedeck stuff is nice but pricey. I need something I can stick under the family workhorse. The Pcar might get the racedeck later.

Thanks for the input.

get expoxy professionally done and a large squeegee to clean floor end of story. The U-Coat it stuff does not work very well look for Armor coat usually found in airplane hangars, no affiliation etc but it is the good stuff.

If you like the racedeck product, check costco.com, someone told me that the racedeck made the costco product.

Stay away from the water based epoxy stuff....rule of thumb, if you can buy it through a retailer...its no good. The stuff at the home improvement stores does not last...Go industrial....if you prep it correctly it will work.
