information please

I'm a newbie here, and to the P world in general, and have already received much information. My question is is there a book available that contains info on Porsche engine types- hp, engine number, what years what was offered. Thanks in advance.

The Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-2005 by Patrick Paternie...In addition, I would pickup the 911 Buyer's Guide by Randy Leffingwell...also the Used 911 Story by Pete Zimmerman.

I have a book called "Original Porsche 911; The Restorer's Guide to all production models 1963-93 including Turbo" by Peter Morgan, published by Bay View Books in 1996. It has charts for each model series in the listed years, showing such things as Model year, model, engine, gearbox, VINs, HP, Torque, Compression Ratio, Weight, and # built. It also lists dimensions, options, and "color schemes," as well as textual discussions of all the models and lots of pictures. I don't know if there is newer version or not.

Porsche 911 Performance Handbook by Bruce Anderson. Lots of the info you're looking for and then some.
