Boge front struts- are SC and 3.2 early+late interchangeable?

Are the boge front struts interchangable between the SC's and the 3.2's of all years?

Some of the SC's have different nuts at the top as well. Different from my Carrera I believe.

The change occurred in 86. The gland nut (retains insert into strut) changed from internal to external threads.

I beleive this is the only difference.

Is there a wrench available for the external nut? I'd hate to use a pipe wrench.

I had problems with getting the correct BOGE insert for my '85.

It seems that the cutoff date is March of '85 anything before is the "old" style and after that date is the "new" style.

A little confusing but that is what I found after some research.

Good Luck

Do you mean for the gland nut? There probably is, but a pipe wrench works just fine. Leaves a few marks, but it isn't like you are going to see them once the strut dust cover is installed.
