Interior Dome Light Wiring ?

My interior dome lights don't work on my 72. I order new lights from our host, but I've got no juice. Anyone know where the wires come out of the headliner? I know it's a dumb menial question but I can't find the wires.

Thanks

on the 74 I think it just goes up the passenger pillar, then across the widshield edge of the roof to the driver's side. Might as well check the passenger side first, cause my memory could be wrong :-)

there is a black plastic loom covered wire, one on each side, each going up to the light from where the hot air pipes are in the passenger compartment.
The one on the passenger side comes from in front of the A post and is connected to the diode.

Make sure the light itself allows it to be energized. The lens of the light is a 3-position rocker switch... on always / on with door open / off always.....

Make sure it is not in the position of being "off always".....

Also, check that the door switches are working correctly. My domes did not work when I got my car ( an 85). The bulbs were good and when I rocked the lens to the on position, they worked. I then checked the door switches, and the driver one was dirty. The domes worked when the driver door was closed, but the pass door was open. I sprayed some contact cleaner into the driver door switch, and Presto......
