Do the plug wires have to have the big rubber insulation around it? What size is the deep socket to remove the cylinder temp sensor from the head?
Also after trying to start the car I proformed a spark test with a odl GM spark plug and got a blue spark, But when I pulled a motor plug it is RED spark? If I get spark the fuel pump and DME relay will both be working? |

The big rubber boot seals the engine and running without it would cause a big cooling air leak.....

I'm talking about where the wires snake back to the dist. They have fatter rubber on them as they go up over the ALT/FAN. I didn't notice on the drivers side as the car is not here.

I seem to remember that the size of the cylinder head temp sensor as being 14mm. I just used a ring spanner to remove mine but hacksawed a gap out of it to fit over the wire.

I don't know why they have the fatter rubber on. Maybe its because as they go over the fan they are lying on metal as apposed to the plastic shroud, and so need the extra insulation. I just left the insulation on.
