993 TT engine in G50 911

I have spent 1 month now researching possible upgrades for my 3.6 Varioram.....

I was really excited about the idea of building a 3.8L with individual throttle bodies and an electronic management system.

But the costs of building such an engine are insane... I believe that if you are going to do something like that you should do it right... But I think such a motor would go a little behind the scope of having some fun driving around the street and doing some DEs...

So what do you think the main drawback would be if I installed a 993 TT engine in the back of my car?

Should I look at a new exhaust or do you think the one I have on the N/A car is fine?

Also I have already bought a Motec M600 (well i was really into the 3.8 idea) ECU... I could use this and ditch the Motronic on the TT engine for a little more HP, no?

The tranny should take the additional torque....

Or maybe I just get the car on the road and become a better driver...

Teo - Tough love here.....you need to sit down and see what you really want; your ideas are all over the map.

Methinks a built 930 is the car for you.

The Protomotive twin turbo for the 3.6 is killer. A friend has one and it's amazing...the sound, the quickness and the reliability. This without going into the engine.

If you have the means, TT-converted 3.6 engine is heaven. Better than 993TT engine.

It's a bold step but you already have few bits and pieces. Take your engine and change pistons to low-comp ones, slap on your Motec and weld a pair of headers to use with Garret T25's och T3's or KKK K24's or any of those cheap units used on common cars...

Check this engine:

The IF2 thread

It's TT-converted 3.6 with 3.6TT pistons. It's dynoed to over 1000Nm of torque. I can't reveal HP figures but they are high...very high.

3.6TT is nothing but 3.6 N/A engine with lower C/R, no twin plugs and different fan.

I guess money might be one drawback. Wetting yourself and smiling too much might be some other drawbacks.

When I first saw your car I though the only thing that was missing was boost. You certainly have the tires for it.
