Engine Oil Thermostat Orientation
I cleaned the gunk around the thermostat and removed it without a problem. Cleaned it up and put new (green) o-ring but now I can't remember the orientation.
Does it matter? thanks, Alex

Bentley nor 101 nor a search revealed any info on orientation. It might now matter then.

Look closely at the mounting flange holes.

![]() Thanks. I should have tried it before posting but with engine down I'm not taking any chances of doing it again. ![]() Alex

Yes, the green ones are supposed to stay soft longer. I would get one if I were you.
