I have a strange heater question.
I was at the track saturday and after my last run the heater blower in the engine bay was blowing. I did not have the heat on. It was maybe 75 degrees out side. This happened once before at an autocross school, It was quite hot out 110, and after my runs the motor would heat up more than normal street driving. Turned off the engine and heard this fan sound. Opened the bay and the heater blower was running. Strange.
Why is this happening? Oh and after I got home from the track I let the car sit for about 30 minutes, reconnected the blower motor and it started blowing again. Any Ideas? |
I think the blower will sometimes come on if the car is not moving - help cool the engine. Can anyone confirm or have more specific info?

The engine bay fan on Carrera's will come on to help cool the exhaust, there is a temp probe in the ducts to the cabin that monitors the temp of the air moving through the duct.

Thanks guys.
