teflon tape and caliper replace

I've read Wayne's book, searched the board and am wondering. Do you use Teflon(plumbers) tape on the line going into the brake caliper and the bleeding screw?
Thanks
Steve

Absolutely not! There is no fitting of any kind on a 911 that is in need of Teflon tape ... you risk cracking some very expensive parts!!!

DuPont does not allow teflon tape to be used on the hydralic system on the machines that make the tape. That tells us something. It is not allowed in my shop either, if necessary we use teflon based pipe dope to seal threads but no tape.
I say never use teflon tape on a hydraulic system.
It will seal just fine but if the fitting is ever removed there will be small slivers of the tape left behind and it will get into places it shouldn't be.
I can't imagine anywhere I would use it or anything that I would put teflon tape on. Not even a drain pipe under my sink.

Great advice from Warren and Sam, as always.

To be clear, hydraulic brake fittings and many others in these cars (fuel, oil, etc) seal on the cone shaped ends and not the threads themselves. The threads merely hold the ends in place and put pressure on them to make the seal.
