We are sick of your caps, not your questions.

And it is really not possible to tell from your picture whether you have an SS kit installed or not.

The short shift kit simply places the "pivot" point upward, on the shifter shaft. Can't tell from the photo.....

Looks like an early car too ( <1972). Early cars had the 901 transmission...later cars had the 915 trans where the short shift kit was usually available. Don't know if a SS kit was ever made for a 901.

I have a Weltmeister short shift kit in my 71 T and the shifter itself is black with a plate below the shifter assembly. It looks like your shift lever is chrome in the picture and longer than the Weltmeister shift lever I have. My guess from the picture and information you gave is that you have the original shifter.

It's considered rude to use caps except maybe to emphasize one word. If you want help....

i work with this older gentleman that is almost deaf. at least we think so. every word that comes out of his mouth is basically SCREAMED at us.. it is painful to ask him questions. we "paper, scissor, rock" to see who runs to him for the conversation. CAPS are like that.

what are those letters on the shifter? too small for me to see.

I was at work last night and the application I use to edit(video/film) with uses the caps lock key to enable some functions... it was on and i was typing- not trying to scream in your ears - just typing. I really fail to see the point that CAPS are irritating- it is easy to read and as long as the words don't include abusive language or personal attacks, I see no reason NOT TO USE THEM..... c'mon porschephiles loosen up and let it ride-

Buff,

Do what you like (obviously), but just know that it annoys most people (me included) to read posts in all caps. Not just here, but anywhere you go.

Seems like if you're looking for other people's goodwill in helping to solve your problems, it might be a good idea to go with the flow.

Looking forward to reading more about your new purchase,

ianc
