Not planning on dropping $$$ for the headers yet, I don't plan on running boost any higher than 1bar.
I did the ARP rod bolts, TT head studs and a few other things during the rebuild.

Here is my chart. I think it is hard to compare different dynos. Some are conservative and some are not. This is running 13 lbs of boost. The dyno operator said that my motor puts out the same hp on his dyno, as a stock 996TT, but 20 ft lbs less torque. I didn't even tell him it was only 3.0L.
Gotta love boost

I believe Dyno tests are normally done in 4th gear. At least mine was - they remove the rear wheels, bolt the dyno up in place, start the car and get it to idle. Then they apply a load and put the hammer down.

Funny story. After testing Blkbird the next car in line was a Miata. Every time they applied the load the Miata just died. So they'd start it up and try again. Then it was remembered that the load was set for a Porsche turbo - the Miata couldn't handle even the base load let alone run up to redline.

If not impossible. I went to 2 dynos in Atlanta on the same day, same car. The difference was 25+hp. The reason I went to another dyno was because the AFR was not working on the first one.

Blkbird - where did you dyno your's?

FWIW, the Dynojet dynos seem pretty consistent from one to another -

I take the car to Motor Werks Racing. Phenomenal shop. There is a dyno facility they use next door. Not cheap but the best way to tune a car over the full range of rpm.

You should come to Garrisons this Saturday (3pm to 5pm). Monthly car get together with special guest Porsche race driver David Murray.

I think those are pretty good dyno results if your using a standard k27-7200, those run out of breath very quickly anyway. No sense spinning it any faster. Looks like your Torque peaks around 4500. My K27-7006 peaks at 5300. You certainly would pick up power if you could cool the intercooler, but in part the intercooler is so hot because that turbo becomes very inefficient and pumps alot of heat once you get above 5K.

Sounds like you were hooked up to a Dynapack. With non-inertia dyno's(those that can impose a load, Dynapack, Dyno Dynamics, some Mustangs etc) gear selection doesn't make a difference in results. On inertia style dynos, Dynojets and many Mustangs, typically 3/4 gear are most common, it depends on the vehicle/size of rollers/load desired etc. What is a consideration on all roller type dynos is wheel speed. It's much riskier when the wheels are spinning 120-160mph, alot can go wrong quickly!
