New Bilstein Inserts for Boge Struts: Question

I ordered Bilstein inserts for my boge struts. I have a 72 911 T.

I'm replacing KYB shocks.

When I removed the KYB's from the strut there is a rubber stop- maybe about 4 or 5 inches long that sits inside of the Boge strut housing. I would assume this piece is used to keep the KYB shock from bottoming out on the top of the strut housing.

Do I re-use this piece with the Bilstein inserts?

Thanks.

Might as well if there is nothing wrong with it

As I remember my new Bilstein fronts came with new snubbers.
And don,t forget to put a little oil in there when you take out the inserts and replace them.

I'd hang on to all of the old hardware until you have the new stuff installed. Would hate to toss something thinking you'll get a new one with your new units, then not get a part!

Here is a photo of the part in Question:

Do I need to re-use this part?

Do Biltstein inserts for Boge require this?

I'm unsure.

My new Bilstein inserts did not come with this part. It is from my kyb's that Im in the process of replacing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

look like a bump stop. Any shock need a bump stop. If not, you can be bottom out if big deep. If you have shorter/sport/race shock, you can cut it shorter for less chance of bottom out.

I've had two new sets of bilsteins for boge in my hands before, both came with everything you need,. I believe the stop on bilsteins is inside the tube not on the piston.

fwiw
saw koni sport adjustables for boge the other day. They don't even send you a new dust cover (sleeve) and tell you to reuse the top nut and collar nut for the outside threaded boges. But they do include a collar nut for pre-85 boge (inside thread) kinda disapointing
