connecting heater boxes

I have an '84 engine on a 1976 911 with the old style triad headers with heater boxes and have just purchased a new exhaust system from Triad West which is really nicely made BTW. The old exhaust had a duct pipe on top of the muffler which via a "Y" connector connected the left and right heater ducts to the duct going up to the blower fan on the engine. What is the best solution for hooking up the heaters with the new exhaust. The system is similar to having SSI's and the triad west muffler on a 3.2 carrera.
Thanks, Scotty

You need to construct a T after the heat comes throught the tin then duct to the left and right. Making the turn to the inlets is a PIA if they are oriented like the SSIs are
It might lok something like this

On your system it appears the heating duct is not connected to the engine fan. If so, how is the air moved into the passenger compartment. Do you have adequate cooling for temperatures in the 20's and 30's? I have a 't' after the tin now but am not sure if there will be enough room with the new triad muffler. Am planning on trying it on today if it warms up some to see how much room I have.

You can't see the T very well in that pic
here is another pic showing the T, this system is easier to hook heat up to because the inlet angles are appropriate

The issue w/ SSI and I assume the Triad is the heat inlets which are splayed outboard. Unless you change the heat deklivery system above the tin to the early styly ypou will always have to make the U turn at the end of the run.
You can see the Carrera T here

Thanks BIll, your pictures are quite helpful.

There have also been quite a few threads ion backdating the heat duct on top of the motor so that you don't need the T and U.

You might want to try a search

try " backdate + heat "
