Wasn't there a guy from Germany who posted here ( or was that Rennlist?) that makes all kinds of interior aluminum stuff ??

I can tell you where to find multiple alum parts for 3.2, sc etc. but im looking to see some different combos etc- anyway, try tpe911.co.uk - pelican has some too- anyway, id love to see some pics of what people have done if any- i mean, for me, i like stock but why not change some parts in and out for fun- good thing is, you can always revert to stock- easily! so, pics??

I added some aluminum interior pieces including door locks, door lock buttons, door handles, shifter, brake handle. Parts from multiple sources. Rings around guages were painted while guages were apart for white faces. (83 targe, originally black on black)

I'd be curious to know if anyone sells aluminum knobs for the HVAC panel on the dash. Some of those plastic buttons are prone to breaking when removed (ask me how I know) and you can't buy them individually. I'd gladly replace them with aluminum not for aesthetics but for the improved quality.

I just happen to have an 87 with a black interior. Also, the previous owner did add some aluminum trim pieces that I happen to like. In the one picture you can see the aluminum door handle on the passenger side. You can't see the aluminum parking brake handle. If you want a picture of this, or more detailed picture of anything, let me know; I can take the cover off the car and snap a pic.

I've seen ads for aluminum knobs for the HVAC controls - in Pano or Excl. IIRC. Brit. company I think.

The shift knob is the last thing I'd want in Al - hot in summer, cold in the winter. BTW, the last issue of Christophorus had an article on ergonomic design at P AG and how they chose the appropriate materials for knobs, leather covers, and etc.

sorry for earlier- anyway, the site that has lots of neat aluminum upgrades is type911.co.uk--- fortunately, all the upgrades (if you wanna call them upgrades) are easy to take off should you want the stock look again or for resale purposes---

Here are two companies that advertise in Excellence and sell aluminum interior bits...

http://www.freedomautoparts.com/
http://www.carcrafter.com/

I recently replaced both of my interior door pulls with aluminum and I really like the way they feel. No point in taking pics, however, because I bought black anodized handles so they appear stock. I only wanted to upgrade the "feel" of the interior, not the appearance.

Just one admonition -- Ferry wanted really blacked out gauges - no chrome rings or buttons. The earliest 911s had dual chrome rings that disapeered by about 1970; the chrome buttons went away about 1974, finally fulfilling his design motif.

The dark interior focuses your attention on the road - where it is supposed to be.

That said, I want to backdate my gauges to the chrome ringed ones used early on... and I like the Momo shift knob posted above.
