inductive fired coils ?? (question for those in the know)
It would seem to me if a timing lite can be fired by a inductive trigger that a separate coil (s) could also be done this way creating a super cheap dual plug system........The spark from the original coil would also fire the sister coil. Make sense?

Triggering a second coil is a trivial and inexpensive part of a twin-plug project! The distributor is usually the BIG expense.
Now, if you are talking about an inductive pickup on six spark plug leads, such as the following coil, and a dedicated second coil to the lower plug in a particular head x 6 ... that just might eliminate the need for an ultra-expensive 12-tossle-head distributor! It might not be trivial in co$t, but it shouldn't cost anything near $3000, either! http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=278&item=VT-27&type=store http://www.datatronics.com/pdf/pt273_series.pdf |
That's what I mean, just fire six more coils, all else stays the same. I do not have the expertise to know what it would take...just seems real possible.

I really want the electric guru's to step in here......... and say why or why not has this /can this be done??????????
