spark plugs not available in the US
There are a plethora of plugs not available in the states and none in particular caught my eye but, I certainly did notice an interesting copper plug today. It is made by Bosch (otherwise I would not post it hehe) and, it is a 4 electrode copper plug. Bosch calls them the "Bosch Super 4 Spark Plugs". Anyone try these things out? It sounds like someone came up with a good idea for those older cars that cannot or just will not use Bosch's weak platinum multi-electrode plugs. Copper multi-electrode plugs. It's about time. Any Euro members want to key in on this? I may order a set just for kicks.
this link has them: http://www.tuneparts.co.uk/plug.htm |
The "spark" will only go from one center electrode to *one* outer electrode at a time...for each firing....
It won't jump to "all 4" at the same time. So...the only benefit is longevity.... not extra performance. As the gap opens up too wide for one pairing, another pairing will take over. Wil |
I completely agree with you Wil. Bosch marketing working overtime on these things but, I have never seen a copper plug with electrodes like that. I thought they were pretty neat. Golden Lodge makes an even neater looking one with 4 electrodes. I bet someone could make an interesting hobby out of collecting strange spark plugs from around the world. heh
