Internal Combustion Engine Handbook- Anyone Read It?

In the Jan 2006 Road and Track mag, the Tech Tidbits section had an article on the Internal Combustion Engine Handbook: Basics, Components, Systems, and Perspectives which is put out by SAE International.

The article's author suggested the book even though it was written as a reference tool for specialists as it has a lot if interesting info in it. He describes a section on variable valve actuation which details various manufactuer's renditions, including Porsche's. Sounds like a lot of historical information with development of different engine components is contained in the book too.

Was curious if any Pelican Head out there has this book and what they think of it.

Sounds like an interesting book to have just for the tidbits of info you never knew about.

Worth putting on my Christmas wish list?

Happy Holidays!!
