Lars, You might want to define the type of work you are going to have them do. I have never seen them work on any p-cars but they do a fair amount of regular insurance driven collision work. I think that most people like Roth and Miller for P-car work in portland but there are a few others that do a good job as well. But again it depends on what you are having done.

Where my suspension bolts to the front of the car is rusted out the peice of metal in front of the gas tank extending to the front bumper right hand side front is the worst but the other side is rusted as well so was looking to have the whole peice replaced. The shop says they can fabricate the peice for 540 dollars plus 60 dollars for the metal. Two days to finish the job.
Below is linkage to the car. Of course I am open for suggestions. Thanks

Linkage

It sounds like the part you are talking about is the suspension pan. They are available aftermarket for about $225 from places like Tweeks. Pelican is temporarily not stocking them do to supply problems from Restoration Design. People have ordered directly from Restoration Design with mixed results lately.

That certainly looks like it all right and a saving of 375 dollars their price includes the install which would be best in my case since I have no place to work on the car and limited skills. Thank you

If their price includes the install then it's a steal. Most shops shops charge about $1000 to install.

I am going to go back and check again before I take the car to them one of the reasons I asked on this board is because the price seems so little for the work being done.

I had one replaced in a 912 in the late '80's. Paid about $190 for the Pan I ordered from Tweeks. A friend that owned a body shop had his guy install for $165 after I removed the suspension......I wouldn't let a small shop fabricate the piece.

Forgive me for hijacking the thread but it's nice to see other Pelican's in PDX.

DSTARGA, can you help me with more info regarding the shop you referred to as I am investigating a complete repaint of my 82 SC as it's what I call a 10' car and would like to have someone with P-car experience on the job.

Best Regards,

Peter

Now that I know that it can be bought I am going to try that option first. The car is a 74 the shop was talking used or making the part if it couldn't be found I am glad I posted here before telling them to go ahead. Thank you
