Loose crank pulley broken dowel

When replacing the the fan belt, I found the crank pulley was loose, after the disassemble found the crankshaft hole wobbled out and the dowel pin rounded off. My crank pulley has a slot, is that normal or did it wear that way from the loose crank bolt. It really looks like it was made that way. This is a 84 euro 911

On a past thread, read where he redrilled the crank dowel hole in another place and replaced with another pulley. He cautioned that he used a new bolt, locktite, proper torque and ultra cleaned the threads in the crank. I guess thats what I am looking forward to. Have you had any problems like this, John? Thanks for the reply Andy

that would probably be the easiest way to deal with it. you would have to establish TDC exactly before drilling so the Z1 notch on the pulley was accurate. kind of hard to keep the pulley in exactly that position while drilling, without the bolt. careful drill sizing so the pin will be tight is important.

Thanks for the advice, glad I found it before it came off. The bolt was only finger tight. This is a car I just got and I'm still going through things on it.
