Welder In So Cal ??
I am looking for a good shop in the LA or OC area that can do some welding on the fuel tank support seam of an 87. Any recommendations ? Are there any tricks to minimize the damage done to the surrounding area from the heat of the welder ? (yeah I know.... the fuel tank has already been removed !)

Call Kevin at Automotive Innovations and Restorations in Van Nuys. He's a 911 expert. Also, TRE (North Hollywood) might be able to help, too.
