Aluminum lock mechanism

I just installed aluminum door handles. Had article from excellance that helped novice that I am. I am now looking to get aluminum door locks and pins. Anyone ever install the aluminum lock mechanism? Any helpful step would be appreciated. One must learn to crawl before walking.
thanks,
mike

Are you talking about replacing these with alum?

If so, the black cover on the knob just pops off, then there is a bolt under it. Undo that bolt and the black plastic knob will slide off. Then that large washer thing will just unscrew. Then how does that line go again? Something like "installation is the reversal of removal"

The door lock pin just unscrews and screw on your new one. Easy as pie!

I hope this helps....

Good Luck...

Thanks it helps a lot. Sometimes you have to remove 5 things to get at 1 with these cars. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks and Happy Holidays,
Mike

No problem. I can't remember if there is a bolt or a screw under that little cap. After thinking about it, it might be a phillips head screw. Either way it is really quite an easy project.

Have fun with it.....

Happy Holidays to you too.....
